… when you’re ready for it.

Not before.

If something is shifting in your life, it’s time for it to shift. Whether you realize it or not, things only begin to shift when you’re ready for a new phase of life.

The secret to navigating change is to follow the tide, not resist it. You don’t have to have all the answers, you only need to follow the tide when it shifts and trust the process of your life that it knows where it’s leading you. The universe always has your back. Change wouldn’t be happening if it wasn’t time for change to happen.

Don’t get tripped up over any perceived outcome. It’s great to have a goal, but don’t hold steadfast to it, be flexible. You never know where life will take you. If you think you know what’s right for you and you hold too tight to it, you will create unnecessary pain and frustration. Set a goal and then be open to where life leads you. When you are flexible, you allow yourself the chance to pivot towards something even better.

Step lightly on the earth, be fluid, be able to adapt, your life may not show up exactly as you expect, but from what I’ve learned — it usually shows up even better.

images… it doesn’t change you.

Challenges make you stronger.

Life is hard. It just is. It was never meant to be easy.

We do not learn by living an easy life. We only learn by living through challenging experiences. Those challenging experiences make you a better person. If you can rise to the challenge and transform the pain or fear, it brings you to a far better place.

We have all heard that challenges make you stronger but how exactly? They make you wiser, more alert, more strategic, more willing to take risks, more self-assured, more patient, more confident in your own abilities, more optimistic, more empowered (less of a victim) and more mindful in your approach to life.

You are NEVER a victim. Challenges don’t happen to you to punish you or keep you back in life. They happen to test your resolve and see how strong and conscious you have become on your path. Every time you overcome a perceived challenge, you earn another level of conscious evolution. And on the flip side, every time you allow yourself to fall down and feel sorry for yourself, you take a step back.

Life is always about moving forward and doing whatever you need to do to keep moving forward. Challenges are not roadblocks, they are opportunities to test ourselves to see if we are still growing in the direction we want to be moving or if we have decided to stop growing all together. Victims stop living. Masters create lifetimes of great richness and beauty. The mind is the only difference between the two.

Take control of your life and change your perception the next time you hit a challenge. Don’t let a closed door be an obstacle. Learn to find the key and open the door yourself so you can keep moving forward and create the life you truly deserve.

Oresund-Bridge-bridges-1134293_1024_768… will always take you to the other side.

Whatever that side may be.

Bridges are metaphors for the transitions in our lives. Bridges take us from one place to another and they usually bridge our past with our future. But because they are not our past and they are not yet our future, they represent that unknown in-between stage that can make many people uneasy. We don’t like uncertainty. We like knowing where we will be at every step. Life isn’t like that. Life requires you get on that transitional bridge and walk away from your past (old job, old lover, etc..) and set out on a journey towards the future.

Sometimes the bridges are long ahead of you and you cannot see your destination. That does NOT mean that is isn’t there.

Sometimes you have to walk in the dark and it might be hard to find your way, but there is always a handrail to guide you.

On a bridge you do not have to think about where you are going. You just have to keep going. The path is set for you. You will get to where you need to be when it is time.

Just like on a bridge, your path in life is set for you. The bridge you are on has to take you to your destination (your future). It can be no other way. Trust the many bridges in your life. These transitional spaces are meant for you to grow and enjoy the scenery while on your walk towards the future.

You do not have to have all the answers in life. You just have to keep walking. As long as you are on your bridge, you are guaranteed to get off at your destination.

So how do you know if you are on your bridge? Staying stuck in the past will guarantee that you never get to that bridge and trying to rush ahead and take that speed boat across those waters will jeopardize your journey. SLOW DOWN. Take a walk. Even though you may not know where you are going, if you keep walking, you will learn so much about yourself in the process and you will be delivered precisely to the exact place, at the exact time you needed to be there. Life is your journey, keep moving forward and cross that bridge into the rest of your life.

hand-letting-go… is the ONLY way to move forward in your life.

Somehow we think that keeping the old will enable us to open the door to the new. It never does. When a person or a situation has outlived its purpose, it is important to close the door on the old, so that you can create SPACE for the new.

Holding onto what does not serve you does not all of a sudden change. If you decide to pack up what didn’t work for you in 2012 and sling it over your shoulder and haul it into 2013, you will get the same nonsense in 2013. If it didn’t work for you then, I promise you, it will not all of a sudden work now.

Why burden yourself with what you know does not make you happy? When you learn to cut ties to the past and open up to a bright new future, you are creating space for the new future to come in. But when you hold onto what does not work for you, it is as if you are telling the universe you are content and you do not need something new. Look at it this way, if your glass if full of dirty water that you cannot drink, in essence, you are telling the universe that you do not need a refill of fresh water. But in actuality, you are dying of thirst. Pour out the dirty water and allow yourself to be filled with what you truly want and desire in life.

You cannot create change if there is no space. Don’t spend you life being “full” with what is making you unhappy. Be strong and allow yourself the opportunity to throw out the old and make room for the new. The rest of your life awaits. What are you waiting for?
