… or have you become comfortably numb?

There’s a difference.

Life is hard, it’s true, but finding comfort in this discomfort is key. True comfort can be found via conscious transformation of suffering. Do you allow yourself to wallow in self-pity and victim consciousness or do you move through the pain and back into higher mastery states of joy, gratitude and happiness?

Many of us get stuck in the pain and in order to cope, we shut down any sense of feeling. We numb ourselves from feeling the pain via alcohol, drugs, food, tv, social media, sex, etc… This is not true comfort, it is a coping mechanism disguised as comfort, otherwise known as the “comfortably numb zone.”

Comfort is the pure mastery of joy, while being comfortably numb is the epitome of sabotage and distraction. One shuts you down, while the other moves you through your consciousness evolution. Be careful not to mistake one for the other.

True comfort is available for anyone who is ready to master their pain — anyone who is ready to face their shadows and move beyond them. Once you learn to face all of it, you can override it and finally begin to heal.

Are you comfortable facing your life or are you more comfortably numbing the pain? There is a difference. One road leads to consciousness mastery and the other leads to an addictive spiral. Where do you find yourself?

… and you’ll keep winning.

Focus on your losses, and you’ll keep losing.

Everything is energy and where you put your focus, you get more of — whether you want it or not.

These are trying times of transition and when you can focus on the positive of your life amidst any perceived negative, you invite the energy of transformation in. Transformation can only exist within the waveform of positive intention. In other words, you can block the next step of your life just as easily as you can walk into it.

You always have a choice as to how you view your life. Are you going to allow yourself to feel the victim of your circumstances or are you going to encourage yourself to continue building upon your successes (however small you think they are) and transforming yourself anew — stronger, greater and wiser?

If the story you are telling yourself isn’t working, try telling another one — a greater one. Where do you want your life to go? What is it you want to create? The secret is in understanding that focusing on where you are, keeps you there, but focusing on where you want to be, brings you there. When you’re ready to be a winner in the story of your life, your life will truly become the winning life you’ve dreamed of.

… is not a function of life.

It’s a function of LIVING.

It’s not about the number of physical years you’ve lived, but the quality of those years that determines how you age.

You are only as old as you feel and how you feel is a function of how you are currently living.

Our modern lifestyle has increased our chronological age (the age in years) — people live longer these days — but modern living has also increased our biological age (the age of our physical bodies) and those are NOT always the same age.

Modern life includes many factors that speed up your biological age clock. Factors of aging increase cellular turnover and just a few of those modern factors include:

stress

sleep deprivation

chemicals found in processed foods + factory farming

coffee

nicotine

extensive alcohol + drug consumption

negative emotions (depression/anxiety/anger/hatred/bitterness/fear)

states of chronic pain

pharmaceuticals

sun exposure

radiation

Keeping yourself young is not only a physical process, but an emotional and mental one as well. We all know how to alleviate the above triggers of aging, but to stay young, follow these simple rules…

Learn how to be happy.

Learn how to cultivate a positive/optimistic mindset.

Learn how to transform negative emotions into positive ones.

Learn to sit in stillness + contemplation (meditation).

Learn to move negative (toxic) energy out of your body through yoga, acupuncture + reiki.

Learn to dispel negative energy (heavy metals/stress) in your environment through smudging (sage/palo santo/incense/himalayan salt lamps/crystals)

Learn to let the earth ground you — spend time in nature and harness the healing power of its bounty in the form of salt water, herbs, flower essences + aromatherapy oils.

Modern living, negative energy and negative emotions will age you faster then you ever thought possible. If you let the world around you dictate your state of mind and emotions, you’ll fall right into premature aging, but if you learn to cultivate a clean body, inner strength, emotional balance and a peaceful mind — you’ll remain youthful beyond your years. How old do you want to be?

th… is an indication that you are not where you want to be – YET.

But clearly you are on your way because feeling lost is the FIRST STEPit’s the step of SURRENDER. It’s the step of “my career is not working, my relationship is not working, I need out of here.” It is the healthiest step one could make because it acknowledges that where you are in life is NO LONGER WORKING for you. It’s the hardest step to make BUT it’s the only one that will yield you the greatest propensity for change.

Once you make that first step away from what is not working, the feeling of “being lost” is inevitable. But believe it or not, in “being lost,” you are actually open to the myriad of possibility around you. In other words, when you surrender to “being lost,” the universe can bring new opportunities to you. This is because expectation blocks the manifestation process but when you have no expectations (because you don’t know where you are going), it opens up a whole universe of possibility for you. Think about it – when you are lost, you stumble upon so many new places and unexpected experiences that you would not have encountered had you had taken your usual route.

Stop thinking you have all the answers – especially if those answers are no longer working for you. Staying stuck somewhere you do not want to be doesn’t make you safe, it gives you a false sense of security and an even falser sense of identity which is truly the definition of BEING LOST.

Don’t fear and avoid feeling lost because let me tell you, “uncertain happiness” is ALWAYS much more productive than “certain unhappiness.” Knowing where you are isn’t better than being lost if where you are is making you unhappy.

Feeling lost isn’t the problem, it is a temporary by-product of the solution towards change and finding real happiness. No one likes to feel lost, but when you realize that it’s actually a first step closer towards being in a new situation that is better suited for you, then there is no need to fall into the drama of feeling lost.

Feeling lost is temporary, but it’s presence guarantees you permanent happiness if you allow yourself to go into it fully. So don’t run from feeling lost, embrace it, open up to it and joyfully accept all the new opportunity that it always brings to the table for you.
