… generally entails having a BREAKDOWN first.

They usually work hand-in-hand.

Our greatest breakthroughs usually come after we’ve completely surrendered control over our lives.

You have to be willing to break down all your mental constructs and expectations of the way you think things should be and be open to a new way of seeing things that might be BETTER than you ever even imagined.

Once you’ve suffered a breakdown of a certain aspect of your life, you’ve learned to let it go. You no longer have any judgements or expectations of it being the way you needed it to be. You are now free to allow it to become anything it is meant to become for you.

Life has a funny way of working things out for you. You don’t always know what is right for you. If you’re breaking down over something, it wasn’t working for you and holding onto something that isn’t working, only keeps you trapped. Letting it go and letting it subsequently break you down is what will inevitably lead you to the breakthrough you’re seeking.

Breakdowns are hard, but the breakthroughs they lead you to are priceless.  Don’t avoid the breakdown, it’s in place to show you that YOU ARE ALMOST THERE. Just when you think it couldn’t get any darker, that’s the moment when the light returns. Don’t run from the breakdown, let it transform you and let it bring on the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for all along.

… will only disappoint you.

We all have our own baseline expectations of how people should behave in given situations BUT expecting people to uphold those expectations is both unrealistic and unfair to everyone.

It’s ok to have high standards for personal decorum, but it’s not ok to put those standards on others.

Putting those standards on others sets them up to fail and sets you up to be disappointed. Let people be who they are and IF WHO THEY ARE DOESN’T WORK FOR YOU – MAKE ANOTHER DECISION, but don’t waste one moment hoping/expecting they’ll show up differently.

Expecting people to be other than who they are is a game you’ll NEVER win. It only sets you up for disappointment when they don’t come through. Recognize that you can’t fix people and you can’t change them, but you can learn to accept them for who they are and LET THEM OFF THE HOOK for everything they cannot be for you.

People are messy and they come with their own limitations. Don’t get caught up in those limitations – they’ll only frustrate you. Remember that it isn’t your job to hold up a mirror to their lack of self-awareness. If they cannot see themselves, there isn’t anyway you’re going to be able to show them who they are.

Learn to know the cards you are holding – learn to know the person who is sitting right across from you and NEVER EXPECT THEM TO BE OTHER THAN WHO THEY ARE and you’ll never be disappointed.

images-1… you have to feel WORTHY of having it.

In our society we are conditioned towards money – chasing it and amassing it. We believe that our very existence is predicated on our ability to make money – that abundance is somehow predicated on hard work, achievement and sometimes even sacrifice.

But what we don’t realize is that that is only HALF the equation.

The truth is no matter how hard you work and how far you strive for material success, that success will always elude you if you do not feel worthy of actually having it.

Abundance is our true nature and it is available for all those who believe in themselves and who know they are worthy and deserving of having it.

If you do not believe in yourself, you will have a hard time attracting financial success and if you somehow manage to attract a portion of it, you will not be able to maintain it – it will leave your hands as quickly as it came in.

Everything is energy and if the energy you are putting out is uncertainty surrounding your capabilities, and insecurity around your ability to deserve a higher paycheck, then you are keeping that material success from you.

Do you want more money? Stop chasing it and start believing in your abilities and worthiness of having it. When we finally transition our focus from chasing to deserving, it attracts the material success we’ve been seeking all along. In life, it’s not about how hard you work, but how much you feel you deserve it. How worthy do you feel of having money?

Unknown… it is NEED.

Only love is love.

But we confuse the two. We get into situations where we think because we love someone that we NEED them in order to feel whole. If you are needing someone to be something or do something for you to feel whole, then realize that that is never love – it is in fact only need.

Need is what we need to learn to give to ourselves. Once we take care of our own needs, then real love follows. But we have a habit of looking for love and then putting our needs on that love as if it is our love’s responsibility to fix us or save us from ourselves.

It is no one else’s responsibility to give you what you NEED. It is your responsibility to take care of your own needs and make sure you always have what you need in order to feel whole in yourself. When you can manage your needs effectively, real love has the opportunity to complement you, not complete you. When you manage your needs, you find that the love you attract is always able to give you what you need, because you have given it to yourself first.

For example, if you need someone to provide for you, learn to provide for yourself.

If you need someone to see you as successful, find success in yourself.

If you need someone to see you as beautiful, see the beauty in yourself.

Once you have honored those needs in yourself, real love will be able to provide you with so much more richness and happiness. So remember, need is need – it is never love.  Real love is the ability to give yourself what you need in order to feel whole. All you need is love – real love to be whole and it starts with yourself.

images-3… allows things to BREATHE.

Trying to hyper-control situations strangle-holds them.

We hold so tightly to what it is we think is right for us. In fact, we continually push our agendas forward even in the face of adversity. But to what end? Where do we stop and realize that resistance is a form of protection. If you are finding it hard to continue on in a given direction, it might be because you are not meant to. Resistance is a universal sign to back-off.  There is something there that you might not be seeing.

We are conditioned to think that if we work hard enough and push hard enough that we can alter any situation to our advantage, but that is using force to drive your life. A better way of living your life is to STOP pushing when you hit a wall and step back. Give yourself some space and time to breathe and allow what is meant to make its way to you, to get to you. Your future might need a bit of course-correction.

Your life is divine. There is an order to it. There is fate and destiny already in place. You can always use your free will to alter any and all of it, but note that you will absolutely encounter resistance if you are pushing towards the wrong conclusion. Take that as a sign to stop exhausting yourself. Take that step back so you can see more clearly. That step back will free up the energy to allow what is really meant for you to catch up with you. Time and space is the ultimate neutralizer.

You want to learn to breathe your way through your life. Controlling doesn’t secure your future, allowing does. When you are ready to release your grip on what you thought you wanted/needed, you will be able to make room for something even more beautiful. Clarity comes from releasing your grip, letting go of control and learning to trust in the process of your life to bring you to exactly where you need to be. Where else would you want to go?

your-life-gets-better-by-change3… it gets better by change.

Life changes. Nothing stays the same. Nothing is ever MEANT to stay the same. As humans, we are meant to grow and evolve and that doesn’t happen by staying still. Movement initiates change. But sometimes the idea of change seems overwhelming, so we don’t allow it. We would rather accept the dysfunction that is familiar to us then to offer ourselves up for the unfamiliar. Hence we get in the way of ourselves and our growth.

Do you want your life to change? Learn to get out of the way of yourself. Stop trying to control the outcome. Life is meant to change naturally. If it is not changing for you, you might be holding onto something/someone/some thought that is keeping you back from moving forward.

Do you want freedom? Do you want change? Do you want to feel as if you are living the best life you can? Get out of the way of yourself. Allow life to change for you. Don’t hold onto things and people that you think are the answers. They may not be.

As soon as you learn to let go and let life be, you will take more chances, undertake more risks, and initiate newer courses of action that are unfamiliar to you. This movement is what brings about change. Change never comes about through complacency and waiting. No more waiting for your life to change, invite change in, step up to the plate and let go of old habits and thought patterns that are clearly not serving you. If things have not changed in awhile, it is time to do something new and it is that movement that will usher in change. Time to change, what are you waiting for?

KYBr7713726… they NEVER lead.

We spend a good portion of our lives giving away our power to others. We don’t always make up our own minds, we allow them to be swayed by other’s viewpoints. Sometimes it’s much easier to adopt a given school of thought then it is to apply your own intelligence to a situation. But every time you do that, you disempower yourself and lose a part of your identity.

Your work in this life is to live YOUR life. No one else’s. But if you are waiting to see what everyone else is doing or saying then you are not leading your life. You are leading someone else’s.

You are an individual and you were never meant to recede into the background as just part of the crowd, you were ALWAYS meant to stand out. Why are you hiding behind other’s approvals or judgments?

The beauty is in being YOU. Not in being part of a group. Step aside from the group and shine your light. Your uniqueness is what makes you who you are. Why would you ever hide from that?

When you live your own life and make your own choices and decide NOT to follow the crowd, your life soars in amazing ways. The universe is waiting to see whether you are ready to take responsibility for your life and truly own it or if you prefer to sit it out in the passenger seat. The rewards only come by being YOU, not by sitting it out and watching the world go by.

Leaders make a difference in the world. Followers are just along for the ride. Which one do you want to be?
