… there are only different experiences.

Bet you didn’t know that?

Many of us labor over making decisions for fear of making a mistake. But that’s the problem. We think it’s safer to sit it out and wait for clarity, but it’s not. Hesitation breeds stagnancy and decision breeds flow. So, it almost doesn’t matter what decisions you make, it just matters that you make them and continue to move through your life.

There are no guarantees in life, there are only varied experiences. You are meant to flow through a series of experiences and garner the wisdom from them. Those experiences are what make you who you are. The process of choosing is the process of life and the act of choosing requires a process of flow.

This process of flow requires you to moveMomentum is the key. Once you are in action, the universe can steer you towards the outcome that is aligned for you, but if you sit it out on the bench, you become inert and stuck/stagnant so change can never come in. Everyone needs to flow; if you sit still, you block your progress by blocking the process.

It helps to know that it doesn’t matter what path you choose, all that matters is that you get onto one. Once in motion, the universe can guide you towards your highest timeline. But you must be in motion. The only thing the universe cannot do is pull you up off your bench; it cannot intervene in your free will.

You gotta be in it to win it. It never matters what choices you make, all that matters is that you make choices and move through the game of your life. There are no mistakes, only different experiences. Are you flowing through your life and moving through your experiences or are you blocking your own progress?

… you won’t have space for it.

Transitions can be disorienting. No one really likes change, especially when it is thrust onto you. But change represents growth and that is the life force that propels us forward in our lives.

The thing about change is that if you don’t clear a space for the newness that you are seeking, you will have no space for it when it arrives.

You have to let go of what you are holding onto in order to accept something new. But we don’t do that, we generally hold onto what isn’t working until it finally drags us to the floor and we unwittingly surrender our grasp.

You have to let go of what isn’t working to create the space for what will. You can’t have both. In times of transition, you have to trust that what doesn’t feel right, is no longer right for you.

Learn to let your intuition guide you. If it feels good, move in that direction. If it doesn’t feel good, move away from that direction and let it go. Once you let go of what no longer feels right, the universe can replace it with something that IS right.

… it’s in learning what that person came to teach you.

But no one ever teaches us that.

Why do we make it all about the other person? It doesn’t matter what that person does to you or what that person says to you/doesn’t say to you — however unpleasant the circumstances may be. It only matters what you learn from that person and how you make your life BETTER because of them.

We tend to get caught up in the drama-trauma zone of our lives and we become the victims of what others do/say to us. But it can never be about them. Our lives are ABOUT US and if those people are in our lives, we should only be interested in the affect their presence has over us.

When we learn that no one has control over our lives unless we give it, everything shifts for us.

Remember in life, it’s never about a person, they are just the relationship villain in place to teach you something about yourself. It’s about what you take away from that person that makes all the difference in the world. Get the lesson and get out; make your life better because they were in it.

… but if you’re patient, it’ll work out even better.

Patience is the name of the game. Life is a delicate balance of effort and surrender and when we push against what isn’t working, we only create more resistance for ourselves.

The ability to observe what is and not get caught up into wanting it to be different is the gift of wisdom. We may not be able to change what is happening to us in this moment, but we can absolutely change our reactions to what is happening and that reaction is what will create our next experience.

Life is a series of moments. What happens when things don’t work out the way you want them to? Do you spend your time and energy rallying around the injustice of it all or do you put your energy into moving forward so you can create a better experience in your next moment?

Life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to but if you accept that “it is the way it is,” you give yourself the ability to create change in the next moment. You are never going to change what happened, but if you surrender to it, accept it and recognize that you prefer to have a better experience next time, you will be on your way to creating it for yourself.

… not the actual outcome.

When things don’t work out the way we hope they will, we suffer. We suffer because the outcome is less than desirable. When we take a closer look at our suffering, we can see that the pain is caused by our attachment to a given outcome. But the attachment is only a thought form — it’s a thought projection of an expected and probable outcome.

When that expected and probable outcome does not occur, we are at a loss and suffering ensues. In reality, we may not be able to control the outcome, but we can absolutely control our thoughts about the outcome and the ability to shift those thoughts is what can help reduce suffering.

If the outcome you receive is not the outcome you were hoping for, the key is surrender. When you can surrender and accept the outcome (whether it is pleasing or not,) you can begin to change your thought about the outcome and shift your thought to a thought that is slightly more empowering.

The difference between happiness and suffering is the quality of the thought form. When your attachment is to thoughts that uplift you, you attract uplifting outcomes and when your attachment is to demotivating thoughts, you attract demotivating outcomes.

Your thoughts determine your reality. If you want to alleviate suffering, learn to change your thoughts about what you are experiencing. This is not to say “lie to yourself,” it is just to help you reframe the situations in your life so that you can begin to alter your thoughts so you can experience more positive outcomes. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

… it only matters what you do with it.

How you react is what determines your next experience.

A situation is just that — a situation. It has absolutely no bearing over your life unless you give it. Once you react to a situation, you make it real for you. Once you react, you become part of the game — you’re in it and now it has to be played out.

It doesn’t matter how bad the situation is, if you don’t engage it, it can never affect you. It literally has no control over you unless you allow it in.

Your power is in your reaction. How you react will determine what happens next. Any good game needs two players. Your move will always determine how things shake out for you. In life, it’s never what happens to you, it’s what you do with it that makes all the difference in the world. What will your next move be?

… you walk into walls.

It’s common sense.

When you’re not looking where you’re going, you’re most likely going to end up somewhere you don’t want to be.

Most of us sleepwalk our way through our lives — running the mouse wheel of life. We are so busy trying to make a living that we completely miss the significance of our lives. We miss the small moments that are on our path to teach us.

Believe it or not, you are only here to learn, NOT to amass large amounts of material goods, real estate, money or collegiate accreditation. Your focus should always be on your relationships and your challenges — these are your mirrors that force your growth. They make you better, wiser and stronger. They change you. They bring you to a better place. In other words, your struggles are your guidepost to greatness; don’t ignore them.

Pay attention to your life, it’s trying to tell you something. If you don’t keep your head up, you’ll undoubtedly end up somewhere you don’t want to be. Life’s too short to keep your head down; there’s a world in front of you — keep your eye on it, it might just change you.

… it’s about accepting the choice you’ve already made.

Our life’s path is made up of choices and there are no mistakes when it comes to making choices, because there are no right or wrong choices, there are only different choices.

Don’t get caught up in the choice you’ve made – make it and move on. It never matters what choice you’ve made. All that matters is that you make the choice, accept the ramifications of the choice and most importantly, elect to choose again if the choice you made was unsatisfactory. You can’t change the past, but you’re constantly influencing your future with every choice you make.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda, but you didn’t, so move on. It’s never about making the right choice, it’s only ever about accepting the choice you’ve made and then recognizing that you are always free to choose again. You’re not meant to suffer and die by your choices, you’re meant to continually thrive and live through new ones.

… is how it will show up for you.

It’s just the way it works.

If you see things as negative, dark and desperate, the universe will conspire to bring you more sadness, darkness and desperation.

If you see things as positive, happy and inspiring, the universe will conspire to bring you more positivityhappiness and inspiration.

Life is a game. You have only to learn the rules of the game in order to play. The #1 rule is that YOU CREATE YOUR LIFE — you create every experience you will ever have in this life with the thoughts you think about it. So if you’re unhappy with your life, clean up your thoughts about it. See yourself as having the life of your dreams and watch that dream come into fruition.

The way you see your life is how it will show up for you. If you believe it, it will become your reality, if you don’t, it will simply fall away. Your reality is yours. How you react, how you think and how you feel molds every experience you will ever have.

Want to be happy? Don’t complicate it. Learn to see the happiness that is inherently present in your life and the universe will continually match it.

… is coming from you.

Always from YOU.

The external world is just a reflection of your own inner state of being. In other words, how you are feeling inside will always be mirrored back to you.

You can’t hide from yourself. The negativity you harbor will bitterly bite you back. The problematic communication you’ve been experiencing will cause problems in all your communications. The agitation and frustration you have been feeling will agitate and frustrate those around you.

The trouble you have with others is always coming from you. Your relationships are an external projection of an internal state of being. If you don’t know what’s going on inside of you, look at your landscape — what and who is showing up around you? How are people treating you? Know that they are always showing up in direct response to the energy that you are emitting.

Keep your side of the street clean. Know what’s yours and give the rest back. When you recognize that the problems you have with others are only projections of your own issues within yourself, you can accept responsibility for the turmoil in your life and ultimately shift it. Do the work inside to heal and your outside world will reflect the changes. The better you feel, the better it gets — it can be no other way.
