… NEVER works.

Waiting around for others to make a decision that affects you, takes away your power.

Never give anyone power over your life to decide your future. If you’re waiting on someone else to make a decision over your Plan A, make sure you have an EVEN BETTER Plan B and C in place.

You’re in control of your destiny, no one else is. Waiting on others to decide your future is a slippery slope. Putting anyone in the power position over your life puts you in the back seat. Get back into the driver seat of your own life and steer it home.

It’s ok to temporarily wait on someone else’s decision, it’s NOT OK to put your life ON HOLD while someone else decides your fate. Take back control over your life, have viable alternate options laid out for you and ready to rock once the decision is made and don’t look back.

Don’t spend time lamenting someone else’s decision over you, if the decision wasn’t in your favor, that option wasn’t in your best interest or aligned with your highest good — let it go. Move on to your personal Plan B and make it A-worthy.

Putting your destiny in other’s hands NEVER works. Why give someone else power/authority over you to decide your fate? Your life is yours. Never be without a plan you can love and never accept a plan you can’t live with. It’s your life. Don’t let anyone else live it.

… certainty is already defined.

Most of us fear uncertainty because of its inherent promise of change. But isn’t it much better to be uncertain of where you are than to be certain you are in the wrong place?

Uncertainty brings options. Certainty brings confirmation. Certainty is limited in its potential to please you, but anything can come out of uncertainty.

With uncertainty, the decision is not yet made. Therefore within the uncertainty, there is lots of potential; it just needs to be embraced and embarked upon.

Certainty is already decided for you. Uncertainty gives you a myriad of options if you’re brave enough to explore them. If you can dream it, it can be an uncertain probable outcome.

Don’t fear the uncertainty; embrace it — it’s bringing you to a future which is still yet undefined. Don’t hide from it, make it yours. Grab the uncertainty and get excited at the potential that awaits you. ALWAYS better to be uncertain where you are then to be certain you are in the wrong place.

… is a step closer towards success.

But we were never taught that.

We view failure as a setback, but in reality “failure” is NOT a setback, but a necessary “step-BACK” along our path towards success. Sometimes it’s necessary to step back in life to regroup and re-calibrate so that we can move forward in a stronger, more definitive way.

It’s important to understand that success is very rarely a steady trajectory upwards. By it’s definition, it’s frought with many step-backs — it has to be. After all, if you didn’t know failure, how could you ever really come to know success?

Our lives are about taking 1-step forward, 2-steps back and it’s the steps-back that enable us to “re-trace” our steps in order to do things better next time. The steps back allow you to process the wisdom you’ve already garnered and make some new decisions with it.

Failure is never falling short of your goal — it’s part of the process it takes to get there. When you learn what doesn’t work, you begin to understand more about what will work. Rejoice in your failures, they innately set you up onto a more solid foundation moving forward. The only way to get to the next highest mountain top is to come down the side of the mountain you’re on. Don’t fight the downhill slide, use that experience to go higher up the next mountain.

th-3… is in their ability to be humble.

Real power is in the mark of someone who doesn’t need to hide behind an over-inflated ego. It is the mark of someone who has achieved everything and yet has nothing to prove. It is the mark of someone who is truly comfortable in their skin and truly comfortable in their ability to be REAL, not living behind a shield of pretense. It is the mark of someone who truly knows who they are and can stand firm in the face of adversity. It is in the mark of someone who doesn’t need, nor seek validation from others.

In other words, truly powerful people know where real power resides and they know that it is NEVER outside of them. They know that power is NOT to be found in fame or fortune. It is NOT to be found in the car they drive or in the number of beach homes they have. It is NOT to be found in the amount of money they make or in their social status. It is NOT to be found in the brands they wear, nor the people they hang around with.

Truly powerful people know that their power comes from within. They have an innate ability to see themselves. They are able to admit their faults. They are able to accept responsibility for their actions especially when they are less than desirable. They are able to constructively hear criticism and subsequently apply the learning. They are able to share their more difficult life experiences with others in hopes to promote their growth without worrying about how they might appear. And even more importantly, they do not need accolades because they know that the best reputations are created without even trying.

Truly powerful people have nothing to prove and yet everything to share with the world. They are modest, and are more interested in helping others for the sake of truly making a difference NOT for what it says about them.

The secret to truly powerful people lies in the ability to practice humility and vulnerability. These beings realize that it is never about physical strength or mental strength – it is always about emotional strength. There is a strength in admitting your limitations that can never be found in the professing of your achievements.

Do you want to be a truly powerful person? Do you want to be recognized in your field? Do you want to influence others and help to inspire them? Do you want to make a difference in the world? Stop trying to DO all that and start BEING REAL within yourself. Your ability to be truly powerful lies within YOU never outside of you.
