sn_pencil_340… you BREAK.

There’s only so much you can take.

Life wields us many challenges and one needs to be able to weather those challenges without breaking down.

Here’s the deal… Things are not always going to go as planned. And that has to be ok. Learn to be flexible. Learn to go with the flow. Learn to move with the current of your life and not against it. If something is NOT happening the way you want it to, recognize that there is always a reason why and yield to that current. In time, you will see that everything is always working out for you even if seems to not make sense in the moment. And realize that if it wasn’t meant to be happening to you, it wouldn’t be happening.

Trust the process of your life and yield to the winds of change, especially if they frighten you. Don’t resist those winds, don’t fight against them, you will only get snapped in half or uprooted completely and tossed aside.

Be flexible when things do not work out the way you want them to and just know that behind the scenes, they are always preparing to work out even BETTER than you ever even imagined. It’s just the way life works.

difference-between-depression-and-sadness… it’s about your state of mind.

So change it.

Reducing your stress level (about your schedule) is about controlling your mind, NOT your schedule.

Understandably so, most of us become stressed due to the schedules we work under. We’re time-impoverished and that creates a source of stress in our lives.

But believe it or not, stress is a choice. It’s a choice in perception.

You can either allow your schedule to “stress you out” or you can change your perception of your schedule. In other words, your schedule doesn’t have to be a source of stress, but the way you mentally label it will be.

You may not always be able to control your schedule, but you can always control HOW YOU REACT TO IT. So, know that you can change the way you are viewing your schedule. For instance, you can either see your schedule as “full and fulfilling” or it can be seen as “busy and overwhelming.”

A schedule is just that, a schedule; the mental perception we attach to it is the way we will experience it. The same holds for anything in life – an event/situation/person is just that, but the perception we attach to it, is how we will experience it.

Do you want to feel more in control of your life? Do you want to have less stress? Learn to redefine what you’re looking at. When you redefine your situation, you will experience it very differently. You are always in control of how you see things. Just know that stress is never about your schedule, it’s about your state of mind as you make your way through it.

th-5… doesn’t get you very far.

LIVING IT does.

Believe it or not, we spend most of our waking lives, ASLEEP – completely sleepwalking – repeating the same patterns that haven’t served us year after year and wondering why happiness always eludes us?

We wake up from our slumber some 10-years, 20-years later and ask, “how did I get here?”

Here’s the deal… racing your way through life doesn’t get you anywhere IF YOU ARE RUNNING IN CIRCLES. But no one ever tells us that. They just encourage us to keep running – to keep competing – to keep surviving.

The years go by and we keep running just “to keep up”, but never asking ourselves, “where are we running to?”

Do YOU know where you are going in life? Have you set the course or is the course driving you? Who’s in charge? If you do not know, you might just wake up from your run and realize you do not want to be where you ended up. Somehow the race took you off-path – off YOUR LIFE PATH, that is. But in reality, was it the path that led you astray or was it your unconscious decision to follow that path, the problem?

Chasing the years of your life keeps you running in circles. Stop running just to keep up and START asking yourself if you are even ON THE RIGHT PATH. Start there. Set your own life course and consciously follow it everyday. If you do that, you will never regret the path you find yourself on. It is the path you chose with absolute certainty; not the one you absent-mindedly found yourself on.

The years of your life go so quickly. How do you want to spend them? Chasing those lost years or driving the years you want to be living? When you are ready to stop blindly running and start mindfully living, the rest of your life is ready to begin.

th-7… makes you JUST as crazy.

Yet we try to do it anyway.

In life, your only responsibility is to express yourself to others and to do so kindly, constructively and compassionately. Then your work is DONE. You owe nothing else.

Your work is never to make the other person understand you. In fact, they may NEVER understand you. They may never be able to understand you. But that is about them, NOT YOU.

People always come to the table with their own bag of tricks – their own fears, struggles and hidden pains that generally create protective barriers around them. In other words, people shut down to hearing what might very well cause them pain or confusion or burst their bubble of “reality.”

But here’s the deal… those walls are theirs and it is not your job to try and tear them down so that they can hear you. Your job is only to express your truth in the kindest fashion possible and then LET IT GO. Don’t need them to agree with you. And certainly don’t argue with them either. Instead give them space to hear and digest what you have said. They will come around in their own time and if they don’t, they might not be the right people to have in your life at that moment.

It is also important to remember that people who are hurting naturally come across as “illogical and irrational” in their speech, but again, you cannot change that for them. You can only offer your truth with kindness, compassion and understanding. And realize at that point that your work is done. Bless them and walk away.

Trying to negotiate with crazy will make you just as crazy. Recognize that it’s NEVER your job to convince someone of your feelings and intentions. It is only your job to express them with kindness and let others find their way with them. When they are ready, they will hear you and in the interim, invest in others who are more open to who you are and what you have to say. After all, life is too short to feel like you are talking to a wall. Don’t make yourself crazy, put your energy into talking with someone whom you can actually have a 2-way dialogue with.

th-1… and consciousness is your map.

Do you want to succeed through life? Pay attention.

Don’t sleep walk your way through the maze. Every twist and turn has something for you. Every person you meet, every situation you encounter is quite purposefully planted in your path for your growth.

Open your eyes and get to know the terrain. Notice when you have gone down the same corridor and make another choice – don’t get looped into the same trap over and over again. If it looks familiar to you, chances are you’ve been down that path before.

Open your eyes and practice conscious awareness of the path you are on. You are always in charge of the path you take, but if you are not awake and conscious of the choices you are making, the maze will run you in circles.

Pick your head up. Stop running into dead ends. Be more strategic about your life. Learn when certain corridors lead you down darker paths and learn to look for the light.

But at the same time, don’t be afraid to explore and make mistakes. You might think that you know the direction that your path is taking you, but you may not. It may lead you towards a different outcome completely and believe it or not, that outcome would be for your highest good.

Practice consciousness towards your life. Pay attention to what is going on along your path – what are others saying to you and how others are treating you? The seeds of your life lessons are happening every day if you are conscious enough to watch them play out and learn the rules of the engagement. After all, it is the game of your life, and it is a maze which can be successfully navigated by waking up.

Your life is too short to run yourself around in circles. Do you want to be in a better place in your life? Wake up and find the nature of the path you have been following and if you realize that it hasn’t been serving you, it’s time to take another path.

images… so you can proceed with caution.

Not everything in our lives is meant to happen instantaneously. Some situations take time to cultivate. But in our society we are so trained in instant gratification that when things don’t go according to our plan, we get frustrated and anxious and impatient and try to force situations to come about unnaturally.

It is important to note that on our planet everything works on its own timeline and NOTHING can be rushed. The universe maintains perfect time management in terms of bringing you the situations you need, exactly when you need them. There is no room for negotiation here. As we know, things happen for a reason and they happen when they are supposed to.

So, why is it that we encounter speed bumps in our lives? Why doesn’t everything happen when we want it to? The answer is easy. When you hit a speed bump, it is an enforced period of reflection & analyses where you are being asked to proceed forward with caution. In essence, you are being held back from what you think you want/need and are being asked to evaluate the situation and your role within it. Are you sure you are ready to go there? Do you have all the tools you need in place to manage that next step? Is this opportunity truly going to meet your needs? Have you considered other possibilities? These are all reasons why we hit speed bumps – it is a built-in process to protect us from jumping into situations that might NOT be right for us.

The road ahead is always uncertain, but you can be certain that when you hit a speed bump, you are being asked to slow down and process the direction you are heading. If the path ahead was clear for you, you wouldn’t hit a speed bump. Heed the warning and use the time to evaluate what’s ahead of you. You might decide you don’t even want to be on that road. Speed bumps are the disruptions that bring ultimate clarity.
