… once you’re on it, you’re in for a ride.

And that ride is a tough one.

One negative thought begets another begets another, begets another. Once you set down the path of focusing on self-limiting beliefs, fears and anxieties, you spiral down the rabbit hole burying yourself under your own negative thought forms.

Trains have a tendency to pick up momentum as they barrel along the track. The negativity train is fueled by every fearful, depressing thought you’ve ever had and it gains speed and force along the way. Once that train is moving in a swift self-defeating direction, it’s almost impossible to stop the inevitable.

To stop the negativity train, get out ahead of it. Stop those negative thoughts in their tracks before they gain momentum over you and learn to replace those thoughts with thoughts that are more constructive and more inspiring.

Your life is your own. Don’t let the runaway negativity train take you out. If you don’t stop the momentum before it builds, you’ll never know what hit you.

… doesn’t make things easier for you.

It makes them HARDER.

Things may not always go the way you intended them to go and that has to be ok. Sure it might be upsetting and sure you might have wished you’d done things differently, and sure you might’ve even tried another approach to fix things but unfortunately was unable. What do you do now?

You can’t change what’s done. Focusing on the disappointment of the past keeps you trapped there. Learning the lesson from that experience frees you to move on.

Learning what you will never do again is by far one of the most powerful lessons one can learn. Transformation is never easy. If it doesn’t hurt, it’ll probably never change you.

Being hard on yourself is never the answer. Transformation is hard work. If you beat yourself up over your learning process, you’ll just impede your growth. Mistakes make you better if you learn from them. Don’t waste your time lamenting those mistakes, use that time to apply the learning and make your future better because of it.

… doesn’t mean it has to become YOUR TRUTH.

Something may have happened to you and it may be part of your past/present, but that doesn’t mean it has to become part of your future — unless you make it so.

It may very well be true, but it doesn’t mean that you have to feed it energy and give it control over your life. Nothing has control over your life, unless you give it.

Again, it may be true, but if it doesn’t serve you — uplift you — mold you into a higher version of yourself — then take your attention off of it and put it into something that does.

You get what you think about whether you want it or not. You don’t have to spend your energy re-living your troubled past or present — shut it down — and put that energy into rewriting your story.

Just because something may seem to be true, doesn’t mean it has to become your truth. You decide what’s true for you and what’s true for you will always become your reality and what isn’t… will simply fade away.

… is not a function of life.

It’s a function of LIVING.

It’s not about the number of physical years you’ve lived, but the quality of those years that determines how you age.

You are only as old as you feel and how you feel is a function of how you are currently living.

Our modern lifestyle has increased our chronological age (the age in years) — people live longer these days — but modern living has also increased our biological age (the age of our physical bodies) and those are NOT always the same age.

Modern life includes many factors that speed up your biological age clock. Factors of aging increase cellular turnover and just a few of those modern factors include:

stress

sleep deprivation

chemicals found in processed foods + factory farming

coffee

nicotine

extensive alcohol + drug consumption

negative emotions (depression/anxiety/anger/hatred/bitterness/fear)

states of chronic pain

pharmaceuticals

sun exposure

radiation

Keeping yourself young is not only a physical process, but an emotional and mental one as well. We all know how to alleviate the above triggers of aging, but to stay young, follow these simple rules…

Learn how to be happy.

Learn how to cultivate a positive/optimistic mindset.

Learn how to transform negative emotions into positive ones.

Learn to sit in stillness + contemplation (meditation).

Learn to move negative (toxic) energy out of your body through yoga, acupuncture + reiki.

Learn to dispel negative energy (heavy metals/stress) in your environment through smudging (sage/palo santo/incense/himalayan salt lamps/crystals)

Learn to let the earth ground you — spend time in nature and harness the healing power of its bounty in the form of salt water, herbs, flower essences + aromatherapy oils.

Modern living, negative energy and negative emotions will age you faster then you ever thought possible. If you let the world around you dictate your state of mind and emotions, you’ll fall right into premature aging, but if you learn to cultivate a clean body, inner strength, emotional balance and a peaceful mind — you’ll remain youthful beyond your years. How old do you want to be?

…working through them moves you forward.

Patterns are meant to be worked through, NOT REPEATED. If something is showing up in your life over and over again, it is the universe’s way of giving you ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY to work through the SAME SITUATION differently this time.

But how many of us catch those patterns? Not many.

For most of us, we don’t even recognize patterns as being our life lessons, we see them more as COINCIDENCE. But there is no coincidence in the universe, there is only purpose. So, if something is repeating over and over again in your life, you’re meant to get the lesson from it and get out.

Consciousness is about catching the pattern — learning the lesson — and moving up in life. Don’t spend your time repeating patterns, you’ll never go anywhere — spend it working through those patterns so you can move on to the rest of your life.

… it’s about MAKING the time.

Time has an elusive quality — we never seem to have enough of it and we always seem to be chasing it. But little do we know — time is malleable and can be manipulated.

The most important thing to note is that — It’s not about the time; it’s about the moment. This is what we tend to lose sight of. The moment has everything you’ll ever need and when you’re in the moment, time expands — it seemingly lasts forever. Anyone who has ever stared at a clock for 15 minutes can tell you that.

But we never live in the moment. We happen to be in a moment but we are never really present to it — our minds are projecting us into the next future moment and the next and so on. So we never get to experience the depth and richness of that moment and therefore it quickly passes us by.

If we could learn that time is about being in a moment, not doing something in that moment, then we would find that we feel less rushed and less hurried and our experience of time would slow down. This is because time is an experience of being, not doing or achieving.

But many of us don’t want to be present to our lives because we don’t want to feel emotion, so it’s just easier to fill our schedules with things to do and subsequently we run out of time to do it.

Learn to look at your life differently — learn to be in the moment and feel it for everything it is offering you and let it transform you. You will soon come to see that life isn’t about finding the time to do things, it’s about making the time to be — be with yourself and be with others. When you can make that time to be present in the moment, you’ll have all the time in the world to do everything you need to do in every moment.

… grats you more.

When you’re grateful for what you have, you’re rewarded with more of it. This is because your attention to the positive aspects of life draw onto you more of the same.

But nobody teaches us that.

We’re so goal oriented that the focus tends to stay on what we do not have rather than relish what we do have, and subsequently because our focus is on the lack of what we desire, we only succeed in creating more of it.

You can’t get to what you want by focusing on what you don’t. Learn to practice gratitude for what you have and it’ll continue to bring more of the same. Like attracts like — happy and fulfilled always brings more happiness and fulfillment. How could it not?

Take back control over your thoughts. Focusing on what you don’t have doesn’t bring it quicker. It only keeps it from you.

By practicing gratitude, it’ll grat you even more than you desire. It’s not about NOT having what you want, it’s about being grateful for what you have.
